Live Music for a Corporate Event

Toast were asked to provide the live music for a corporate event in Leeds. Let me regale you with an epic tale of a 90s rock band’s unforgettable performance at the Valli Optician Annual Conference. It all went down at the Village Hotel in Leeds North, and ’twas a night to remember!

The first set of live music kicked off with a bang as we launched into Blur’s “Song 2.” The crowd, initially taken aback by our presence, soon found themselves unable to resist the pulsating rhythm. We moved seamlessly from one hit to another, playing crowd favourites like “Teenage Dirtbag,” “She’s Electric,” and “Alright.” The room reverberated with nostalgia as the opticians sang along, transporting themselves back to their youth.

During the interval we were informed that Jill, a member of our audience, fancied herself as a bit of an Amy Winehouse. Jill joined us on stage and I’m pleased to say she didn’t make a spectacle of herself. She belted out “Valerie” much to the delight of her her co-workers. Ben threw in some backing vocals making for an unforgettable duet.

As we continued our second set, we unleashed a torrent of rock anthems that had the crowd jumping and singing at the top of their lungs. “Mr. Brightside,” “Sex On Fire,” and “Don’t Look Back in Anger” had everyone dancing as if no one was watching. The Village Hotel in Leeds North transformed into a full-blown rock concert, complete with flashing lights and enthusiastic air guitar solos.

The night was a whirlwind of musical triumph, but the time came for our final bow. Or so we thought. The crowd erupted into chants of “Encore! Encore!” We couldn’t resist their enthusiasm and returned to the stage to deliver one last electrifying performance. The iconic “Seven Nation Army” echoed through the room, and the energy reached its zenith. Opticians and band members alike were united in their love for the music, jumping and singing along in unison.

Looking back on that magical night, we couldn’t help but reflect on the power of live music to transcend boundaries and connect people from all walks of life. Who would have thought that a 90s rock band would find their place at an optician conference? But that’s the beauty of music—it knows no bounds.

The Valli Optician Annual Conference at the Village Hotel in Leeds North will forever hold a special place in our hearts. We rocked the house, Jill stole the show with her stunning vocals, and we created memories that will be cherished by all who were present.

So, my friends, never underestimate the power of music to bring joy, ignite passion, and create lifelong connections. Whether it’s a corporate event, conference, a festival, or your own backyard, let the music take hold and rock on!
