The Round Sheffield Run has 11 timed stages, each with a unique character and challenge. Runners can expect rewarding climbs, beautiful scenery, and smile-inducing, flowing trails. 11 mini races in one. 11 runner’s highs!
We were contacted by Doug on the Tuesday before the event as the band he had booked for the Round Sheffield Run event had cancelled at the last minute. Fortunately after a quick ring round, the lads made themselves available and we were on, and I was able to let Doug know he had a band.
Arriving at 10am to set up I managed weave my way through the joggers and pedestrians to the stage. The stage was a modest 4 by three metres meaning that is was a bit tight for the four of us but we managed to squeezed on. Day 1 was blistering sunshine and a considerable breeze. For day 2 we had squally showers and more wind.
The event had a great turnout and I reckon we played to about 2000 people on each day.
