An unusual one this. The venue was a barn made of breeze blocks and corrugated iron on a farm on the outskirts of Sheffield. The so called “stage” was a narrow , raised concrete path that was probably intended to allow a farmer to more easily navigate a herd of cattle. Happily it also worked with wedding guests. The narrowness of the stage forced us to adopted what is known as the “firing squad” formation, with each so called musician, standing side-by-side in a row. Although this configuration can be made to work, it’s difficult for bandmates to make eye contact with each other and is therefore not ideal.
The first dance for this one was “You’re my best friend” by Queen. It ended with the inexplicably popular, Macarena.
The father of the bride had been on a Cheese tour of Europe and brought back a buffet of exotic cheeses, which we were invited to sample. Forsooth, it shall be hereby known as The Cheese Wedding!
