On Friday 6th December 2024, we had the absolute pleasure of playing one of our liveliest gigs of the year—a Christmas party for a brilliant group of student nurses at Yellow Arch in Neepsend, Sheffield. With the venue dressed for the festive season and the crowd ready to celebrate, it was the perfect recipe for a night of anthems, Christmas cheer, and non-stop dancing.
We were buzzing to have Adam back on lead guitar for this one, and he came firing on all cylinders. The solos, the riffs, the energy—everything came together to make the night unforgettable.
The first set burst into life with Blur’s Song 2, which instantly had the whole room shouting along. From there, we powered through Teenage Dirtbag, She’s Electric, and Alright, each one met with full-throttle singalongs. Dreaming of You had couples swaying, Parklife brought plenty of audience banter, and by the time we hit Dakota to close the set, the place was already buzzing.

After a quick interval to recharge (and refuel at the bar), we launched into the second set with Take Me Out. The crowd was straight back on their feet, and we kept the momentum flying with Valerie, Proud Mary, and I Believe in a Thing Called Love.
Then came one of the standout moments of the night—our Christmas special. With festive lights twinkling, Adam ripped into the opening of Christmas Time (Don’t Let the Bells End) by The Darkness. The student nurses raised the roof, belting out every word and hitting those falsetto notes with gusto. It was a proper seasonal highlight that set the party apart.
The rest of the second set was wall-to-wall anthems. Mr Brightside turned the room into a festival crowd, All the Small Things and I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor kept the energy sky-high, and Chelsea Dagger and Sex on Fire had the floor bouncing. We wrapped up the main set with Don’t Look Back in Anger, arms around shoulders and voices in full force—an epic moment that felt like the perfect Christmas toast.
For the encore, we brought it down just a notch with Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, which had the whole room swaying and singing together, before finishing with the thunderous Seven Nation Army. The iconic riff echoed around Yellow Arch long after the last note, with the crowd chanting it out into the December night.
To the student nurses who partied with us—you were incredible. Thank you for letting us soundtrack your Christmas celebration. Your energy, spirit, and voices made it a gig we’ll never forget. Here’s to all the amazing work you do, and to a festive season as unforgettable as that night at Yellow Arch.
Merry Christmas from all of us!
